Daraa production of pistachio, walnut and fig estimated at approximately 197 tons

The Agriculture Directorate in Daraa estimated the governorate’s production of pistachio, fig and walnut at about 194 tons.

“The area cultivated with pistachio is 760 dunums, with 2,390 trees, of which 1,940 ones are fruitful, producing about 9 tons annually” Eng. Wael al-Ahmad, said in a statement to SANA.

Regarding the fig season, al-Ahmad indicated that there are about 17,714 fig trees planted in the governorate within an area of 700 dunums, with an annual production estimated at about 130 tons.

“The area cultivated with walnut is 210 dunum, with 2,100 trees, producing 55 tons annually, according to al-Ahmad.
