Doha: Inshore weather until 6:00 pm on Thursday will be misty to foggy at places at first, and partly cloudy with a chance of light rain, cold by night, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of expected poor horizontal visibility at places at first.
According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will be hazy at first, and partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain. The report also cautioned about expected strong wind and high sea during the night. Wind inshore will vary from southeasterly to southwesterly at a speed of 5 - 15 KT, shifting to northwesterly at a speed of 5 - 15 KT, gusting to 20 KT during the afternoon.
Offshore wind patterns will shift from southeasterly to southwesterly at a speed of 5 - 15 KT, changing to northwesterly at a speed of 8 - 18 KT, with gusts reaching 24 KT during the night. The sea state inshore will range from 1 - 3 ft, rising to 5 ft during the night. Offshore conditions will see the sea state from 2 - 4 ft, increasing to between 5 and 8 ft as night falls.
Visibility inshore is predicted to be between 4 - 9 km, dropping to 2 km in some areas initially, while offshore visibility will remain between 4 - 9 km.
