Department of Meteorology Warns of Poor Horizontal Visibility Inshore Tonight

DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about expected poor horizontal visibility inshore tonight, with conditions set to be relatively cold and foggy in certain areas until 6:00 am on Friday. Offshore conditions will feature scattered clouds and a chance of light rain, according to the department’s daily weather report.

According to Qatar News Agency, the wind inshore is expected to be northwesterly at a speed ranging from 03 to 13 KT, while offshore winds will vary from northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 05 to 15 KT. Visibility is predicted to be between 4 to 8 kilometers, potentially reducing to 2 kilometers or less in some locations later in the night. The sea state is expected to be relatively calm, with inshore waves reaching 1 to 2 feet and offshore waves between 1 to 3 feet.

High and low tide timings vary across regions, with Doha experiencing high tide at 03:32 and 13:23, and low tide at 08:29 and 21:15. Other areas such as Messaid, Wakrah, Al Khor, Ruwais, and Dukhan have
their respective tide timings listed in the report. Sunrise and sunset are anticipated at 06:10 LT and 16:45 LT, respectively.
