Department of Meteorology Warns of Potential Thundery Rain and Strong Wind

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather alert, forecasting partly cloudy conditions with a possibility of scattered rain, which could turn thundery at certain locations. This warning is part of the department's daily weather report, which highlights the likelihood of thundery rain accompanied by strong wind in specific areas.

According to Qatar News Agency, the offshore weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with chances of scattered rain that may become thundery at times. The report also cautions about thundery rain offshore, which could bring strong wind and high seas.

The inshore wind is predicted to be mainly northeasterly to northwesterly, reaching speeds of 5 to 15 knots and gusting up to 25 knots during thundery rain. Offshore winds will vary from northeasterly to southeasterly at similar speeds, also gusting to 25 knots under thundery conditions.

Sea conditions inshore are expected to range from 1 to 3 feet, surging to 5 feet with thundery rain. Offshore, the sea state could rise from 2 to 4 feet up to 8 feet in thundery weather. Visibility inshore and offshore is anticipated to be between 4 to 9 kilometers, dropping to 3 kilometers or less during thundery rain.
