Manama, Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has stated that investment in education in the kingdom reflects the ongoing unique and distinguished partnership between the public and private sectors to provide diversified educational opportunities based quality, innovation and sustainability, commensurate with the goals of the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla asserted that while the government is committed to developing the educational process, being the cornerstone of progress and prosperity, it is also keen on providing the facilities necessary to the private sector to set up private educational institutions, to create more options to parents and students, as well as support the role played by government-funded institutions.
The Deputy Prime Minister made the statements while opening today, separately, the Abdulrahman Kanoo School - Diyar (ARKS Diyar), and the Nadeen School Dilmuni, both located in the Muharraq Governorate.
Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, officials and businessmen attended the opening ceremonies of the two schools.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla praised the important role played by private education institutions, citing their positive contributions to raising the levels of human development witnessed by the Kingdom by developing the basic and cognitive skills of students at various levels, supporting the national economy by providing job opportunities for the citizens, and stimulating the building and construction sector.
He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Education in cooperating with investors and providing them with the necessary facilities, which contributed to the increase in the number of licensed private educational institutions that meet the required standards, noting that they provide different types of education according to modern curricula to thousands of students from various educational levels.
On the occasion, Education Minister expressed pride in the Deputy Premier's inauguration of the two private schools, reflecting the interest of the kingdom, under HM the King's leadership, with the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in education, being the cornerstone of the development process, affirming that the Education Ministry will continue supporting projects in the private sector, in line with the government's goals.
