London, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Board of Trustees Chairman of Derasat participated in a discussion session hosted by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) on geopolitics in the region.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah underlined that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; will continue building strategic partnerships aimed at achieving sustainable development and promoting global stability.
He spoke about Bahrain’s vision on promoting regional security by enhancing self-capabilities, building international alliances and maintaining a balanced and effective position based on an integrated strategic perspective and solid principles and foundations.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah warned of the dangerous repercussions resulting from the escalation of the Israeli war on Gaza, especially the worsening humanitarian conditions and the threat to the lives of innocent civilians, considering that the continuation of violence will lead to more violence and undermine the chances for peace.
He highlighted Derasat’s role in promoting international understanding and promoting peace, coexistence, and governance in open societies.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah said Derasat was interested in developing cooperation with TBI in areas of research and proposing solutions for geopolitical challenges in the Middle East, and to establish a partnership for research exchange and knowledge integration.
