Head of Technical Team at Ministry of Interior, First Lieutenant, Khalid Al Mulla said that Corniche Street will be closed from November 26 in the morning until December 4. He said that the closure will be from Al Sharq intersection to Sheraton Hotel in north and from Sheraton to Port Intersection in south. Part of some roads leading to Corniche Street will also be closed, he added.
Al-Mulla said the Corniche will see a few events during this period, including the Corniche Food Festival on the Corniche Road and Al Bidda Park. He noted that closing the Corniche will allow the public to cross safely and enjoy all events, and that the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" will complete some work on the road, adding that all pedestrian crossings on the Corniche will be open.
Regarding the arrival of government employees to their workplaces, the head of the technical team said that we have provided more than 52 agencies with alternative maps to reach their workplaces. He explained that the affected parties are few and there will be special permits for them and added that alternative routes to reach the workplaces will be from A, B, C and D Ring Road, the February 22 Road, and the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, all of which are open.
