DIBF Participants to QNA: Arab Publishing Houses in Diaspora Enhance Humanitarian Contents of Cultural Dialogue

Doha: Arab publishing houses contribute to enhancing the presence of Arab culture around Europe and the world, linking residents of that country to their cultural roots and communities, and striving to impart their culture's knowledge and values to and from Arabic through creative translation. Participants at the 33rd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) currently at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Centre (DECC), emphasized in special statements to Qatar News Agency , Arab publishing houses in diaspora reinforce the human content of cultural dialogue, enrich knowledge exchange through translation, and contribute to the establishment of solid rules of interaction through their choices to transfer the best scientific and creative works. In this regard, the supervisor of the Dar Al-Muna pavilion in the exhibition Ishraq Al Omari said in a statement to QNA, that the publishing house founded by Mona Henning Zureikat in 1984 in Sweden completed 40 years in the service of culture and knowledge this year. It publ ishes Swedish, Scandinavian and international books, stories and novels aimed at children and youth in Arabic, by selecting texts that highlight the ethics of that region of the world and what they are known for. The House's publications received readers' attention at the DIBF, in which it was keen to participate, and at Arab exhibitions; because it publishes translations of leading writers and famous authors in the field of children and youth. Its publications have received readership for new and different presentations, including novels and books from the highest distribution around the world since the 1990s. Al Omari added that this interest in the house's publications is linked to its deep human content and its sophisticated language, and its keenness to print its work in an attractive and elegant way. Dar Al-Muna Publishing House has received several honors and awards thanks to its efforts to publicize Swedish literature in the Arab world. For his part, Founder of Badawi Publish House Dr. Mohamed Bad awi Mustafa, who is participating for the second time in the DIBF, explained that the house founded in 2005 in the German city of Constance. It is concerned with literary, intellectual and cultural creativity and works to disseminate scientific and literary works, which promote the presence of culture and eastern and African languages across the world, and seeks to familiarize itself with the civilization and culture of the Sudan in international forums, and contribute to the movement of scientific translation from Arabic to several European languages. He pointed out that the house, which was crowned the best start-up company, combines scientific, literary and cognitive content care with the support of visual creativity through its artistic choices of its covers and photographs, and in two years has completed 80 new titles with diverse content and knowledge value. Dr. Badawi stressed that the house's eagerness to participate in the 33rd DIBF stems from the well organization of the exhibition, the high level , the outstanding demand of the exhibition audience for knowledge, and the aspiration to acquire new and useful books and publications. Readers were interested in acquiring their publications dealing with the history and prospects of the East-West relationship, including the works of German poet Johan Goethe and the top German poets, who were inspired by the worlds of Muslims, Arab culture and African creativity in their work, as well as the acquisition of literary works in the arts of novelism and poetry for major Sudanese and African writers.
