Doha:Doha Bank Group has been announced as the new title sponsor for the Qatar Ladies Open, a WTA 1000 event, starting in 2027. This sponsorship is part of a new partnership with the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Federation’s President, Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, highlighted the partnership’s significance in enhancing the tournament’s prestige. He emphasized that this collaboration with Doha Bank reflects confidence in the event’s status on the global Women’s Tennis Association calendar.

Al Khelaifi also noted that the agreement showcases Doha Bank Group’s active role in the community by supporting sports and various events in Qatar. He expressed optimism that this partnership would contribute to the tournament’s success and highlight Qatar’s capability as a major sporting event host.

Doha Bank Group CEO, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al-Thani, expressed pride in the partnership and its alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030. He noted that the sponsorship underscores Doha Bank’s commitment to supporting Qatar’s sports sector and promoting the country as a global hub for major sports championships.

The Qatar Ladies Open is the longest-running tennis event of its kind in the region, with its first edition held in 2001. The 2027 tournament is scheduled for February 8 to 14.
