According to Qatar News Agency, the encounter featured numerous missed opportunities in the first half. A significant moment was Al Shamal's Baghdad Bounedjah missing an obvious scoring chance, directing his shot at the goalkeeper and then hitting the post with a rebound in the 37th minute.

The second half mirrored the first, with both teams missing opportunities to break the deadlock. In the final moments of the match, Al Gharafa's Ferjani Sassi had a last-minute chance to score. His header, assisted by Yacine Brahimi, went inches wide to the left during added time, sealing the goalless outcome.
