Doha: Al Ahli secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Al Sailiya on Saturday at Grand Hamad Stadium in Week 9 of the 2025-2026 season of the Doha Bank Stars League.

According to Qatar News Agency, German midfielder Julian Draxler was pivotal in Al Ahli's win, scoring both goals for his team. Draxler found the back of the net first in the 27th minute and then clinched the victory with a second goal in stoppage time at 90+1 minutes. Al Sailiya's Youssef Snana managed to equalize temporarily with a goal in the 45th minute plus three.

The match outcome marked Al Ahli's third win of the season, moving them up to nine points and securing ninth place in the league standings. Meanwhile, Al Sailiya experienced their sixth defeat of the campaign, leaving them in tenth place with six points.
