Rome: The Doha Falcons will participate in the 14th round of the Longines Global Champions Tour, hosted by the Italian capital, Rome, from Oct. 10 to 12. The team is set to compete in the 16-team Champions League competition, representing the Falcons with riders Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al-Thani, Bassem Mohammed, and Giacomo Casadei.
According to Qatar News Agency, the 14th round will kick off on Friday, featuring world champions and young showjumping talents, alongside the world's top horses. Competitors will vie for prizes exceeding 700,000 euros. The event promises to be a significant stage in the series, showcasing a blend of seasoned professionals and emerging talents.
In the previous 13th round of the Longines Global Champions Tour, held in Vienna, German rider Philipp Weishaupt claimed the Grand Prix title, while Swiss rider Martin Fuchs secured the Five-Star Match title. These achievements highlight the level of competition expected in Rome.
The Longines Global Tour commenced in Doha (Al Shaqab), with subsequent rounds in cities such as Mexico City, Shanghai, Madrid, Cannes, Stroppiez, Paris, Monaco, London, Valkenswaard, Rosenbeek, New York, and Vienna, before reaching Rome. The tournament will continue with upcoming rounds in Riyadh, culminating in the final event in Prague.
