Doha: The jury for the 15th Arab Towns Award convened in Doha on Monday, opening three days of deliberations with the participation of leading experts and specialists from across the Arab world.
According to Qatar News Agency, the award recognizes excellence in urban and environmental development and includes three architectural categories: Best Architectural Project, Heritage Preservation, and Distinguished Architect. It also honors achievements in environmental health and safety, as well as the Arab Green City Award.
The jury, composed of specialists selected from several Arab countries, is tasked with reviewing 31 nominations submitted by different cities. The evaluation process is designed to ensure fairness and objectivity and will continue over the course of three days.
Winners will be announced at the closing session, to be held at the Ministry of Municipality's theater in Doha, in the presence of representatives from the General Secretariat of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO).
The meetings reflect the award's commitment to promoting architectural and environmental excellence, encouraging the exchange of expertise among Arab cities, and advancing sustainable urban development to improve quality of life.
