Doha: The 2nd edition of the Doha Tours 3x3 basketball tournament continued Sunday and is set to run until March 13.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event, launched by Fame Sports Academy under the supervision of the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF), is specifically dedicated to Ramadan. It brings together eight teams for both boys and girls in the age categories of U16 and U21 years. This tournament provides young players with opportunities to assess their skills and compete in environments that enhance the performance of basketball in Qatar.
On the sidelines of the tournament, former professional basketball player and former member of the Qatar national basketball team, Captain Yassin Ismail, conducts orientation sessions for players. These sessions aim to familiarize players with basketball techniques and strategies. Participants have the chance to learn from his extensive experience and improve their skills in a professional setting.
Fame Sports Academy is focused on promoting 3x3 basketball in Qatar and offering young talents the chance to develop their abilities and compete at high-level tournaments. The tournament receives significant support from the QBF, which continues to promote the sport across the state. The academy is keen to expand the championship in future editions and involve more players from different age groups.
