An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit on Wednesday west of Sakai in Osaka Prefecture, south of Honshu Island, Japan's largest mainland island. The earthquake was at a depth of 74.8 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far. Sitting on top of four major tectonic plates, Japan is one of the worlds most earthquake-prone countries, seeing about 1,500 earthquakes every year, most of them minor. Source: Qatar News Agency
