ECB Holds Interest Rates Steady at 2% Amid Stable Inflation Outlook

Frankfurt: The European Central Bank (ECB) has kept interest rates unchanged at 2 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ECB stated that the decision came after the Governing Council assessed inflation expectations, which remained broadly unchanged. The ECB reiterated its commitment to relying on incoming data to guide monetary policy decisions, emphasizing that it would not commit to any decisions in advance while keeping all options open.

Investors in Europe are anticipating that the ECB's agenda for the next two months will include a final interest rate cut this year. The ECB has held interest rates steady since last June after halving them over the course of a year, stating that they are in a good place with inflation nearing its target level and economic growth close to its potential.
