Ramallah - Ma'an - The Ministry of National Economy said on Wednesday that the food stock in the northern governorates meets citizens' needs for six months and flour for three months. It added, "The supply chain of goods to the Palestinian market continues for various goods and items, and there is follow-up and coordination with suppliers to take the necessary precautions regarding preserving the stock. The ministry indicated that purchasing activity in the market is stable and there has been no significant increase in the demand for any commodity, due to the sharp decline in citizens' purchasing power and spending according to need and benefiting from previous experiences, especially the Corona crisis. The ministry indicated that monitoring and follow-up operations of commercial movement between cities, especially in the northern governorates of the West Bank, face difficulties and obstacles as a result of the Israeli restrictions imposed on the movement of individuals and goods, including closures, check points and continuous raids. The ministry stressed the intensive control efforts implemented by the teams to control and organize the market, which resulted in the seizure of 142 tons of damaged goods, of which Israeli products constituted 72% of these seizures during last July.
