Egypt and Italy Urge Swift Reconstruction Efforts in Gaza Strip

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni engaged in a phone call to discuss regional developments, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing illegal immigration.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian presidency issued a statement emphasizing the urgency of commencing reconstruction activities in the Gaza Strip. The discussions underscored the need to avoid displacing Palestinians and to maintain focus on the Palestinian cause. Both leaders highlighted the international community's duty to safeguard Palestinian rights and support their quest for an independent state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
