Egypt and Russia Foreign Ministers Engage in Phone Discussion on Key Issues

Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, engaged in a phone conversation to deliberate on regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as strategies to enhance bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussion between the two ministers focused on rapid developments in the region and the necessary efforts to reduce and manage rising tensions. Abdelatty highlighted his country's initiatives to facilitate a conducive environment for ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran. He underscored the importance of pursuing a peaceful and consensus-based resolution that aligns with the interests of the involved parties and addresses concerns related to the Iranian nuclear agenda, thereby preventing further escalation and unrest in the region.

On the topic of joint cooperation, the ministers acknowledged the strong ties between Egypt and Russia, noting the progress being made in various areas of collaboration, particularly in the economic and trade sectors.
