Doha: Egypt has warned of the repercussions of Israeli ministers' statements on the start of a scheme to transfer Palestinians from their land. An Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement on Thursday pinned the blame on the statements as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law and the Palestinian people's most basic rights.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian statement stressed the disastrous repercussions that may result from this irresponsible behavior, which weakens and destroys negotiations on a ceasefire agreement, and incites the return of fighting again, in addition to the risks that may result from it on the entire region and on the foundations of peace.
Egypt affirmed its complete rejection of such irresponsible statements in their entirety, stressing that it completely rejects any proposal or vision that aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause by uprooting the Palestinian people or displacing them from their historical land and seizing it, whether temporarily or permanently.
It also warned of the repercussions of these ideas, which constitute injustice and an infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and Egypt would not be a party to them, stressing the need to deal with the roots of the conflict, which is the existence of a people under occupation for decades, during which they have suffered from all forms of displacement and persecution of their inalienable rights in accordance with the references of international legitimacy.
Egypt reaffirmed the need to implement the ceasefire in Gaza in its three stages and permanently, noting its intention to engage immediately with partners and friends in the international community in implementing visions for early recovery, removing rubble and reconstruction within a specific time frame and without the Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip, especially with their adherence to their historical land and their refusal to leave it.
