Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, engaged in a phone conversation to address pressing issues in the Middle East: The two leaders discussed Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, emphasizing the necessity of advancing to the next phase of the ceasefire plan.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussion between President El Sisi and President Macron centered on the latest regional developments, with a particular focus on the Gaza Strip. President El Sisi highlighted the critical need to reinforce the ceasefire and transition into the second phase of the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. He also underscored the urgency of augmenting humanitarian aid to the region and initiating the early recovery and reconstruction phase without delay.
Both presidents concurred that ongoing efforts should culminate in the initiation of a comprehensive political process aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In addressing the situation in Sudan, President El Sisi reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while firmly opposing any attempts to compromise its security. He conveyed Egypt's backing of efforts to conclude the conflict and reestablish peace and stability in Sudan.
