Egyptian Foreign Minister Discusses Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit with Counterparts over Phone

Doha: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, discussed the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, taking place Monday, with his Arab, Islamic, European, and Asian counterparts, during a number of phone calls conducted Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Egypt's Foreign Ministry stated that Abdelatty conveyed Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President, Donald Trump's invitation to their counterparts to take part in tomorrow's summit.

The peace summit is expected to see the signing of a document that puts an end to the war in the Gaza Strip, alleviates the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and opens a new chapter of peace and security in the region, in line with US President Donald Trump's vision and efforts in resolving conflicts worldwide.

In the same context, Egypt's Abdelatty and US Secretary of State, Marco Rubi held a phone call discussing preparations for the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, under the joint chairmanship of Egypt and the United States.
