Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati held a phone call Thursday with his Lebanese counterpart, Youssef Raji, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdel Aati expressed Egypt's readiness to contribute to Lebanon's reconstruction and infrastructure development efforts.
The Egyptian minister reaffirmed Egypt's supportive stance toward Lebanon in addressing security challenges, emphasizing Egypt's rejection of any actions that could threaten the safety, security, and stability of the Lebanese people.
He further underscored the importance of adhering to and implementing the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon, calling for the immediate, full, and unconditional withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, enabling the Lebanese Army to enforce UN Resolution 1701. Abdel Aati highlighted the need for the resolution's full and simultaneous implementation by all parties without exception.
