Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty discussed with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi regional developments and ways to de-escalate tensions in the region, as well as means of strengthening bilateral relations, in a phone call Wednesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the two ministers stressed, during the call, the importance of intensifying efforts to contain tensions and work towards de-escalation to prevent the region from sliding into new waves of instability.
They also emphasized the need to create a conducive environment for prioritizing diplomatic solutions and reaching sustainable political settlements that support regional security and stability.
In this context, the two sides discussed the latest developments regarding the Iranian nuclear file. They affirmed the importance of adhering to diplomatic channels and providing supportive conditions for resuming dialogue between the United States and Iran, leading to a comprehensive agreement on the nuclear issue that takes into account the interests of all parties and contributes to strengthening security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
