Egyptian President and Spanish Prime Minister Call for Ceasefire in Gaza Strip

Doha: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez affirmed, in a phone call Tuesday, their categorical rejection of the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the Israeli ground incursion into the Strip, and the imperative of delivering humanitarian aid.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement that the two sides agreed, during the call, on the importance of implementing the two-state solution as the sole guarantee for achieving security and stability for the peoples of the Middle East. During the call, the Egyptian president reviewed his country's efforts to achieve a ceasefire, emphasizing Egypt's categorical rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. Meanwhile, the Spanish Prime Minister expressed his country's welcome of the Arab plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip, noting his country's full agreement with the Egyptian position, which rejects the displacement of Palestinians or the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.

Regarding the situations in Syria and Lebanon, the two sides stressed the importance of maintaining the stability of the two countries and the unity and integrity of their territories.
