Doha: The Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan), part of the Qatar Social Work Foundation under the Ministry of Social Development and Family, organized the 2nd edition of the 'Qatari Treasures', which features prominent Qatari figures known for their achievements. In this edition, held under the patronage of HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, the Center hosted HE Special Envoy of Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability Bader bin Omar Al Dafa. During the dialogue session, His Excellency addressed several topics related to his work as a diplomat, sharing his rich experience in the diplomatic field, the challenges he faced throughout his career, and his strategies for enhancing international relations and representing Qatar on the global stage. He also discussed the social and cultural dimensions that influence diplomatic work and how to achieve a balance between national and international commitments. The event concl uded with HE the Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al Thani honoring HE Bader bin Omar Al Dafa in recognition of his efforts and notable contributions in the fields of diplomacy, climate change, and sustainability. The 'Qatari Treasures' program provides an opportunity for youth to engage directly with the guest and learn closely about their achievements to create a channel of communication and interaction between young people and experienced individuals. It also allows them to discover the guest's experiences, key milestones in their career, and the skills that contributed to their development as a leadership figure, so that new generations can benefit in their professional journeys. Additionally, the program focuses on raising awareness among community members about the rights and various achievements of the elderly, working to change societal perceptions towards them. It aims to highlight their accomplishments and cont ributions while fostering communication between different generations, as well as seeking possible solutions to bridge the gap between generations.
