Eight Injured in Two Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon

Beirut: Eight people were injured on Monday in two Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon.

According to Qatar News Agency, Lebanon's Public Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center stated that Israeli warplanes struck the towns of Ansarieh in Sidon district and Al-Qlayleh in Tyre district, resulting in injuries to eight people.

Separately, Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation warplanes hit a building in the town of Kfar Tebnit with two missiles, while another building was targeted in Ain Qana in Iqlim Al-Tuffah region.

Earlier, one person was reported killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle near the town of Ansarieh in southern Lebanon.

A ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon came into effect on November 27, 2024, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from border villages and towns within 60 days. The Lebanese government later approved an extension of the deadline until February 18. However, Israeli occupation forces have remained at five locations and have continued violations, which have exceeded 7,000 airspace breaches and more than 2,400 military activities within the UNIFIL area of operations in southern Lebanon since last November.
