Brussels: The European Union recorded a trade surplus of 39.2 billion Euros in agricultural products in 2024.
According to Qatar News Agency, Eurostat, agricultural exports from EU countries exceeded 234 billion Euros, compared to imports worth 194.9 billion Euros.
Eurostat added that, compared to 2023, exports and imports grew by 2.8% and 6.7%, respectively.
It noted that the United Kingdom was the EU's main partner for agricultural goods exports in 2024, accounting for 23% of the total, valued at nearly 54 billion Euros, followed by the United States at 12.8%, with exports exceeding 30 billion Euros.
The EU imported most of its agricultural goods from Brazil, which accounted for 8.8% or 17.1 billion Euros, and the United Kingdom, which accounted for 8.5% or 16.6 billion Euros.
