European Shares Start Week Stable

Brussels: European shares stabilized at the beginning of this week's trading, without registering any significant change compared to the previous session. The pan-European STOXX 600 was up 0.07 percent, after the benchmark index snapped a 10-session winning streak on Friday.

According to Qatar News Agency, European banks fell 0.7 percent, limiting overall gains. On the other hand, the index of chemical firms led the gains, adding 1 percent. Defence stocks, which have lately been on a tear due to Germany's higher spending plans, rose 0.8 percent.

A USD 686 billion is expected to rise in Europe's defense budgets by 2035, which will drive medium-term earnings growth for the region's defense stocks at a level "incomparable" with the past 30 years.
