Doha: European stock indices closed mixed Thursday, amid data on the US Federal Reserve (the central bank) keeping interest rates unchanged. The European Stoxx 600 index fell by 1.09 points, or 0.20 percent, to reach 551.01 points at the end of trading.

According to Qatar News Agency, the German DAX index also closed down by 118.98 points, or 0.53 percent, to reach 22,314.65 points at the end of trading. The British FTSE 100 index fell by 49.56 points, or 0.57 percent, at the close, to reach 8,662.97 points.

Meanwhile, the French CAC 40 index rose by 12.04 points, or 0.15 percent, at the close, reaching 8122.58 points at the end of trading.
