Doha: European stock indices closed higher across the board Thursday, amid anticipation of the US Federal Reserve's decision on interest rate cuts. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index rose 2.95 points, or 0.5 percent, to close at 579.19 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, the French CAC 40 index climbed 42.10 points, or 0.59 percent, to finish at 8,134.71 points. The British FTSE 100 index gained 28.79 points, or 0.3 percent, to close at 9,723.08 points. The German DAX index closed nearly 200 points higher, or 0.90 percent, to finish at 23,907.80 points.
