According to Qatar News Agency, the pan-European Stoxx 600 index reached the 600-point mark for the first time, as global stocks continued their recent strong gains. Investors remained calm following the US arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro over the weekend. The index rose 0.7 percent during the day to a record high of 600.16 points, fueled by gains in the technology and mining sectors.
The Stoxx 600 index climbed nearly 17 percent last year, marking its biggest annual gain since 2021. Among other indices, the UK's FTSE 100 index increased by 0.5 percent to 10,004.57 points. France's CAC 40 index rose by approximately 0.2 percent to 8,211.50 points, while Germany's DAX index climbed by about 1.2 percent, reaching 24,856.32 points.
