European Stocks Decline as Investors Assess Earnings and Await Negotiations

Doha: European stocks declined on Wednesday as investors weighed a series of lackluster corporate earnings and remained cautious ahead of upcoming negotiations between Washington and other countries. The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.3% to 571.58 points. Germany's DAX index slipped 0.2%, France's CAC 40 dropped 0.8%, while Spain's IBEX gained 0.1%. The UK's FTSE 100 index rose 0.5%.

According to Qatar News Agency, shares of French cosmetics company L'Oreal fell 7.1% following disappointing quarterly results. The STOXX Aerospace and Defence index rose nearly 1%, supported by gains in Hensoldt and Renk, which advanced 3.1% and 4.5%, respectively. Energy sector shares also climbed around 1%, while technology stocks declined 0.9%.
