European Stocks Decline at Start of Trading

Doha: European stock indices declined at the beginning of Monday's trading: European stock indices began the week on a downward trajectory.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Stoxx 600 index fell by 0.3 percent to reach 535.11 points, with major benchmark indices across the region also experiencing declines. Despite the overall downturn, the shares of oil and gas companies emerged as leaders among the winning sectors on the index, rising by 0.7 percent in response to an increase in crude oil prices.

Conversely, the travel and leisure sector index experienced a decline of 0.8 percent. However, there were notable gains within the session, with Spectris shares surging by 14.6 percent, marking one of the largest increases of the trading period.
