Doha: European stocks closed on a mixed note as investors awaited next week's US Federal Reserve meeting. The Stoxx 600 index finished flat, while Britain's FTSE 100 slipped 0.20 percent, leaving it down 0.56 percent for the week.

According to Qatar News Agency, Germany's DAX gained 0.66 percent, bringing its weekly rise to 0.80 percent. France's CAC 40 edged lower by 0.09 percent in its final session of the week.
