Doha: European stocks fell on Tuesday, driven by declines in bank and insurance shares that are heavily affected by interest rates, as investors await the monetary policy decision from the Federal Reserve (US central bank) on Wednesday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index dropped 0.15 percent to 555.79 points, led by roughly 1 percent declines in both the banking and insurance sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, among individual stocks, Schindler shares fell 1.7 percent, L'Oreal lost about 2 percent, while Ferrari shares rose 2.6 percent.
