Doha: European stocks rose to a record high on Thursday, with the French CAC 40 leading gains among regional indexes as earnings increased for a number of companies. The STOXX 600 index climbed 0.7 percent to 625.86 points, while the French CAC 40 rose more than 1.4 percent.
According to Qatar News Agency, Hermes posted steady revenue growth for the second consecutive quarter, supported by strong sales in the US and Japan, sending the luxury goods group's shares up 2.3 percent, while Legrand shares rose 3.3 percent.
On the mergers and acquisitions front, money manager Schroders jumped 30 percent, while financial services shares increased 1.4 percent, leading sector gains.
