The European Union Commission announced Monday its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) with 16 million euros. The Commission said in a statement that this payment is the third provided to the agency since the beginning of 2024, stressing that the European Union will contribute to supporting UNRWA during this year with 82 million euros. It explained in this regard that this financial support comes within the framework of its commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis of the Palestinian people. At the end of last May, the European Union Commission announced that it had provided similar support with the same amount allocated to finance health and education services. A few days ago, 123 countries renewed their support for UNRWA as the UN body entrusted with protecting the rights of Palestinian refugees and providing them with the necessary assistance.
