Manchester: Manchester City and Aston Villa secured their spots in the semifinals of the FA Cup after winning their respective quarterfinal matches against Bournemouth and Preston on Sunday.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the first match, Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush helped Manchester City defeat Bournemouth 2-1. Marmoush scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute after coming on as a substitute for Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who had equalized in the 49th minute following a 21st-minute opener by Brazilian Evanilson for Bournemouth.
With this win, Manchester City completes the list of semifinalists, setting up a clash with Nottingham Forest, currently third in the Premier League standings. The semifinals will be held on April 26 and 27 at Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa also advanced to the same stage with a 3-0 victory over Preston, thanks to two goals from Marcus Rashford in the 59th and 64th minutes, and a third from Jacob Ramsey in the 71st.
Aston Villa will face Crystal Palace in the semifinals after Palace's 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday. This marks Villa's first semifinal appearance in 10 years, as they aim for their first FA Cup title since 1957, having previously reached the final in 2015 but lost to Arsenal.
