New york: Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the semifinals of the US Open for the second time in his professional career after defeating Australia's Alex de Minaur, the world No. 8, in four sets on Wednesday in the quarterfinals. Auger-Aliassime secured victory over his Australian opponent with scores of 4-6, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6. With this win, the 25-year-old Canadian, currently ranked world No. 27, reached the semifinals for the eighth time this season in ATP tournaments. According to Qatar News Agency, this is also only the second time Auger-Aliassime has reached a Grand Slam semifinal, the first being at the US Open back in 2021. He now awaits the winner of the final quarterfinal match between world No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner and fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No. 10 seed.
