FIBA Asia Praises Doha’s Organization of West Asia Super League

Doha: June 02 - The Asian basketball federation (FIBA Asia) praised the successful organization of the second edition of the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8 by the Qatar Basketball Federation, which was held for the first time in Doha and concluded Saturday. In a statement Sunday, FIBA Asia commended the outstanding organizational efforts made by the Qatari federation, which contributed to the success of the championship on all levels, including the technical, logistical, and marketing aspects, thereby enhancing Qatar's position as a capable sports destination capable of successfully hosting major sporting events. The tournament saw the participation of eight teams, including: Al Riyadi Beirut and Sagesse SC from Lebanon, Manama from Bahrain, BC Astana from Kazakhstan (Central Asia), Kuwait SC and Kazma SC from Kuwait, Shahrdari Gorgan from Iran, and Tamil Nadu from India (South Asia). Al Riyadi emerged as champions of the FIBA West Asia Super League 2024 following an 100-90 overtime win over Sa gesse in the final on Saturday night at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall.
