Doha: Jordan head coach Jamal Sellami praised his players' performance and their qualification to the quarterfinals after defeating Kuwait 3-1 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in the second round of Group C at the Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025. Sellami said during the press conference that Jordan were the better side, controlling the match and securing a deserved victory that sealed their place in the next round. He noted that the team entered the game with focus and intensity, creating several chances, especially in the first half, though lapses in concentration prevented a bigger scoreline. He added that Jordan have high ambitions in the tournament and will rest some players against Egypt due to fatigue from the tight match schedule. Jordan midfielder Ali Al Alwan stressed that the win was crucial to securing early qualification, giving the team room to recover and prepare for the next stage.
According to Qatar News Agency, Kuwait coach Helio Sousa expressed disappointment with the loss, acknowledging that his team underperformed in the first half. He said Kuwait improved after the break, applied high pressure, reduced the deficit, and were close to equalizing. Sousa added that they aim to perform better in the next match against the UAE.
