Doha: The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee meeting convened Saturday in Doha, hosted by the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) until February 10. The meeting brought together leading gymnastics experts and development officials from around the world.
According to Qatar News Agency, the QGF's hosting of this event reflects the growing international confidence the FIG places in Qatar, particularly following Doha's successful hosting of the FIG Trampoline Technical Committee meeting from December 4 to 9, 2025. This success underscores Qatar's advanced standing in organizing and hosting international technical meetings.
In this context, QGF President Ali Al Hitmi emphasized that hosting this meeting for the second consecutive time is a source of great pride for the Federation and for Qatari sports in general. He noted that this confidence reflects the high level of professionalism within the Federation and the strong support that sports receive from the wise leadership.
In a press statement, Al Hitmi expressed his pride in the trust shown by the FIG, describing it as a great responsibility to continue developing gymnastics in Qatar and enhancing its presence on the international stage, thus contributing to the sport's advancement at both the regional and global levels.
The QGF President emphasized that Qatar's advanced sports infrastructure and world-class facilities, along with its proven track record of organizing major international championships, training camps, and meetings, significantly contribute to solidifying Doha's position as one of the world's sports capitals.
