Five Killed, Multiple Others Wounded in Israeli Bombing of School Sheltering Displaced People East of Gaza City

Gaza city: Five people were killed and multiple others wounded in an Israeli military attack today on a school sheltering displaced people east of Gaza City.

According to Qatar News Agency, local sources in the Gaza Strip reported that Israeli forces targeted a school sheltering hundreds of displaced families near Al-Durra Hospital in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City with artillery shells, smoke bombs, and live ammunition. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least five Palestinians and injuries to others.

The sources added that the Israeli military prevented ambulance crews from reaching the school to evacuate the dead and wounded for an extended period, deliberately firing at them to prevent their approach. Israeli warplanes also continued their airstrikes on eastern Gaza City and destroyed residential buildings in Rafah, in the south.

The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli entity came into effect on October 11, following the withdrawal of the occupation army from populated sites and areas in the Gaza Strip, and the start of the return of displaced persons to the northern Gaza Strip, as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza.
