Five Security Personnel Killed in Armed Attack Eastern Iran

Iranshahr: Five Iranian police officers were killed Friday in an armed attack in the east of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Iranian Internal Security Forces Command reported that unidentified gunmen attacked two police vehicles in the Damen area of Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The assailants engaged in a gunfight with the security personnel, resulting in the deaths of five officers.

The statement from the Internal Security Forces indicated that the attackers managed to flee the scene. Efforts are currently underway by regular forces to track down the assailants and investigate their identities, though no further details have been disclosed.
