Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, the UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, United Nations and the Commonwealth. The meeting discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation within the framework of the strategic dialogue between the two kingdoms. The two sides discussed the recent developments in the Middle East region, focusing on the Gaza Strip conflict and its impact on civilians and regional stability. They emphasised the importance of regional and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire, avoid escalation, and alleviate humanitarian suffering in Gaza. The need to protect civilians and ensure humanitarian aid access was highlighted, along with the urgency of promoting just and lasting peace. The meeting affirmed the significance of holding the 33rd Arab Summit, which will be hosted by Bahrain next May, and the importance of reaching constructive decisions that contribute to strengthening Arab soli darity and supporting efforts to bring peace, security and stability to the region.
