Foreign Minister participates in GCC Ministerial Meeting

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani participated in the 156th GCC Ministerial Council meeting which convened today at the GCC Secretariat General, in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was chaired by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Humood Al Busaidi, the President of the current session of the Ministerial Council. GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohammed AlBudaiwi also attended.

The meeting spotlighted issues on its agenda, including the implementation of the resolutions of the GCC Supreme Council and the Ministerial Council, the recommendations submitted by the specialized ministerial committees in the GCC cooperation, and the reports prepared by the General Secretariat on issues related to the Gulf cooperation march.

The Ministerial Council discussed regional and international developments and ways of bolstering the GCC cooperation to serve the interests of the member states and maintain regional security and stability.

The delegation participating in the meeting comprised Bahraini ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General for Foreign Ministry Affairs Ambassador Talal Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, Head of the GCC Affairs Sector at the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Eid and the minister’s accompanying delegation.
