Gaza: The Israeli occupation army conducted airstrikes and artillery shelling across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, killing four Palestinians and injuring several others. Two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of civilians in the Al Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip, sources reported on Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, in central Gaza, an airstrike by the Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian in the Al Baraka area of Deir Al Balah. Meanwhile, a young girl sustained injuries after an Israeli drone opened fire at a displacement camp in the Al Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
A Palestinian fisherman was killed, while another and a child sustained injuries as a result of Israeli naval fire off the coast of Gaza City. Separately, three children were wounded when an explosive remnant of war detonated in the Al Fakhoura area, west of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
Since October 7, 2023, the death toll from the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip has risen to 52,495 and 118,366 wounded. In a press statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the total includes 2,396 martyrs and 6,325 wounded since March 18, when the Israeli occupation forces resumed their assault on the enclave following the collapse of the ceasefire agreement.
The Ministry noted that over the past 48 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip have received 77 martyrs, 7 of whom were recovered from under the rubble, and 275 wounded individuals. It stressed that a number of victims remain trapped beneath the debris and in the streets, beyond the reach of emergency and civil defense personnel.
