Doha: The Organizing Committee of the Fourth GCC Games (Doha 2026) revealed the official logo of the tournament during a special ceremony held Saturday at the Old Doha Port. Several committee members and representatives of regional sports federations attended the ceremony.
According to Qatar News Agency, the logo broadly draws its inspiration from the palm tree, one of the most enduring symbols embedded in the Gulf's environment and rich heritage, mirroring the shared values that unite the peoples of the Gulf states, including resilience, endurance, generosity, patience, and a profound connection to the land. It embodies the time-honored Gulf identity, forged and nurtured across generations, as Doha sets out to host an outstanding edition of the Games that seamlessly intertwines the spirit of sportsmanship with the Gulf's cultural legacy.
The design showcases six palm fronds representing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, arranged in a fluid visual composition that conveys a dynamic sporting essence, while the visual space at the center forms the numeral '4,' symbolizing the fourth edition of the Games. The logo was unveiled in an innovative, interactive fashion through an artistic mural employing a paint-by-numbers approach, allowing attendees and the public to complete its details-a spectacle that reinforces the spirit of collective effort and community participation.
Doha will host the Games from May 11 to 22, 2026, welcoming an elite contingent of Gulf athletes competing in 18 sporting events across 9 world-class sports venues. On this occasion, HE Director-General of the Games, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al-Thani, expressed his pride in launching the logo, noting that it reflects a unified Gulf vision and embodies the historical and cultural values shared across the region. He emphasized that the selection of the palm frond symbolizes both authenticity and unity among the Gulf states.
The logo's design is the product of a deliberate vision aimed at translating the Gulf's shared values into a contemporary visual language. The choice of the palm frond was far from arbitrary; it draws upon its deep-rooted symbolism in the region's heritage, representing authenticity and cohesion across the Gulf, HE Sheikh Khalifa underlined. Sheikh Khalifa highlighted that the Organizing Committee ensured the unveiling method was interactive and innovative, providing the audience with a chance to actively participate in the moment of revelation.
This approach, he said, underscores the commitment to engaging the community at every stage, aligning with the mission to promote solidarity among Gulf youth and instill the values of collaboration and collective endeavor through sports. Sheikh Khalifa further affirmed that preparations are afoot to hold these Games in accordance with approved plans, leveraging Qatar's extensive expertise in hosting major sporting events. He expressed that the committee looks forward to delivering a remarkable edition of the Gulf Games, advancing regional sports and strengthening Doha's standing as a leading hub for hosting major regional and global sporting tournaments.
