Jakarta: France and Indonesia on Wednesday condemned Israeli plans to take over the embattled Gaza Strip and forcibly displace the Palestinians.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a joint statement following the meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, both nations called for forging a reliable roadmap and making a breakthrough toward mutual recognition between Israel and Palestine.
These issues are poised to be addressed during an international conference co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France in June, aimed at reviving the two-state solution.
Indonesia was the second stop in Macron's six-day itinerary to Southeast Asia, which commenced in Vietnam and is set to culminate on Thursday and Friday in Singapore.
